Description: Летом 2008 года премьер-министр Владимир Путин посетил Уссурийский заповедник в Приморском крае, где познакомился с пятилетней тигрицей, пойманной зоологами Института проблем экологии и эволюции имени А. Н. Северцова РАН. Ученые рассказали главе правительства о программе по изучению и спасению амурских тигров и показали GPS-ошейник, который позволяет отслеживать пути перемещения животных. Чтобы снабдить таким ошейником хищника, нужно предварительно поймать его в петлю и обездвижить. В присутствии журналистов премьер выстрелил в пойманную тигрицу дротиком с транквилизатором, а потом надел на нее ошейник. Позже выяснилось, что сцена была постановочной: зверя привезли из хабаровского зоосада. Тигрицу по имени Аралия узнали блогеры по уникальному узору на шкуре. Дальневосточные ученые эту информацию подтвердили. Однако зоологи из РАН продолжали исправно докладывать о маршрутах «путинской тигрицы» в заповеднике.
