В 1970−80-е годы артель знаменитого золотопромышленника Вадима Туманова начала разрабатывать золотые прииски на северо-востоке Республики Коми, в верховьях реки Кожим. После создания здесь в 1994 году национального парка «Югыд ва» (в переводе с коми — «чистая вода») золотодобытчики ушли, но высокопробное интинское золото до сих пор не дает покоя бизнесу и чиновникам: они не оставляют надежды принять закон, который бы позволил менять границы заповедных территорий в упрощенном режиме. В июне 2020 года была предпринята очередная попытка: инициаторы законопроекта предложили разрешить правительству изымать земли национальных парков.
